Our car park ticket machine was vandalised overnight on 2nd December: sawn at the base and removed!
The introduction of car parking charge in January 2019 has brought about a huge increase in the number of Friends of Magog Down and also ensures that everyone visiting Magog Down contributes to its upkeep.
The loss of the machine results in a temporary loss in income to the Trust, until it is reinstated, at considerable cost. This means that we have less money to support planned projects on the Down.
In the temporary absence of the machine, we have introduced a mechanism for visitors to donate the amount of the parking charge by text message. To donate £3, text MAGOG to 70331
The machine will be replaced as soon as possible. In the meantime we thank all our Friends and Members for their ongoing subscriptions which continue to be a very important source of income.
