Haverhill Road, Stapleford closed from 12 August 2024 for up to 10 weeks

As part of the ongoing work to upgrade the electricity power network from Fulbourn to Sawston, Haverhill Road will be closed  between Babraham Road (A1307) and the junction with Gog Magog Way in Stapleford from Monday 12 August for a period of up to 10 weeks. We have spoken to the contractor Kier who has confirmed that access to Magog Down will be maintained throughout this period either from the A1307 or from the Stapleford end.

When the closure begins, they will be working at the Babraham Road (A1307) end of Haverhill Road and access for vehicles will be via Stapleford. The work will move progressively down Haverhill Road and, at some point(s), access will only be from the A1307. There are no specific dates when this will be at present. Kier intend to provide advance warning when the access point will change.

If you arrive at either end of the closed section of Haverhill Road and find there is no access, the simplest way to get from one point to the other is via Hinton Way.

We assume that it will still be possible to walk to Magog Down from Stapleford along the footpath as occurred during the closure in autumn 2023.

We will continue to provide updates on access as we are made aware of them while the work continues.
