Sun Spurge (Euphorbia helioscopia)
Sun Spurge is an annual plant found on bare and disturbed ground. Flowerheads are a bright yellowish-green at first. The species name helioscopia derives from two Greek words which together mean ‘look at the sun’. Individual flowers are tiny, what appear to be petals are actually outer bracts.
