Annual Reviews

Each year we now produce an 'Annual Review' for Friends and Members, which incorporates a summary of our formal Year-end Report, plus what we hope are some interesting highlights of the year in question.

"Rules of The Down" updated

So many people make regular use of the free Permissive Open Access on Magog Down, it is easy to forget that the whole area is privately owned, and access is permitted only within certain rules.

The Governors of The Magog Trust have recently reviewed the Regulations applying to the use of Magog Down by the public, and have made a couple of changes in response to recent issues.

Specifically, following the opening of Colin's Paddno_dogs_clip_art_medium_60ock as a No Dogs area, the Regulation relating to Dogs has been re-worded. Also, the Regulation about Aircraft has been amended to include "drones" among the categories of aircraft which may NOT be flown from or over Magog Down.
A typical Drone - these are PROHIBITED on Magog Down
Were you even aware that there is are regulations in place covering things like Aircraft, Ball Games, Metal Detectors, and Trading, to name but a few?  Why not read through the Rules of the Down before your next visit?

We have also recently compiled an FAQ to help in answering some common queries.

Old Newsletters

Up until 2011 we produced a twice-yearly Newsletter, and you can still download copies of some of these here:

Spring 2010

Spring 2009

In 2011 the re-designed website was launched, and so the decision was taken to stop producing these Newsletters, and instead to use this website as the main means of communication for news and articles of interest.

This move away from a regular Newsletter meant that more of the Members' and Friends' subscriptions could be spent directly on the costs of upkeep and husbandry on the Down.

We would love every regular visitor to Magog Down to help support its upkeep by becoming a Friend. Read more on our Join Us page, and then complete the application form.
